I met Dr. Sachs in 2015, after I was selected for the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship. He was my mentor. I had the wonderful opportunity of shadowing him as an intern and learn about behavioral health programs in the U.S. After the completion of the program, we maintained a strong collaboration. In 2016, Dr. Sachs and I provided a successful training on trauma-informed care for mental health professionals in my native Ethiopia. Over the years, we also enjoyed a great friendship. He is that mentor who checks up on his mentees and assists them in all important career and personal life milestones.
I am beyond thankful and pleased with the mentoring and advisory support I am receiving from Paul. He takes his time to listen, understand the problem and then share his ideas on how to go about solving it. He is extremely friendly, open to learn from me and does not force his opinions on me. He has been extremely helpful in putting together my business plan, and setting up the structure of the business. He is the best mentor one could ever ask for.
Paul’s ability to understand key issues related to organisation development, human resource and strategy development is phenomenal. He has used this phenomenal ability to provide solutions that has helped us in our strategic planning, effective management of staff and volunteers and increasing collaboration with our beneficiaries to improve sustainability of our projects.
